My Passion

I know that they're not Jesus
But they're mighty good still
And I can't give up on them
At writing them at will
Some say that I should focus
My life 'round other stuff
But when it comes to loving
I just can't get enough
They are my deep down passion
The expression of my soul
And I'm afraid without them all
That I would not be whole
You know what I'm talking 'bout
My friends and family
For without your influence
I'd know no poetry.

Bob, I don't know about you, but this obsession really messes up my work schedule. These poetry forums are addicting and I have to make myself stay away some nights just to prove to myself I don't need a 12 step program yet. Loved your expression of this dilemma. Cheryl

Such true words. Poetry's a part of who we are and sometimes it's difficult to keep the proper balance between it and the rest of our life. Please never give up your writing as it's a strong part of this forum and we'd be lost without it.
