Sweeter still is Jesus
on the tongue,
in delightful bits
of candied praise
and honeyed bits of truth.
How much sweeter He grows
the more the palate savors
His epicurean delights.
Sweeter and sweeter
He becomes
until His honey-rimed dew
swells the soul
satiating that pure desire
to be swallowed up by Him.
