Silence is Golden (The way of contemplative prayer)

My Lord, I hear your soft whispers
in the quiet of my soul's chapel.
Your voice too deep and still for ears to hear,
it wellsprings up within my being
in rich, reflective rounds of grace,
rebounding in my waking spirit
until the cleansing process begins.
Energizing and tranquilizing occur
spontaneously and in sync.
Encouraged and reassured,
I'm ready to live for You.
I fervently pray that I never break
Your special silence which speaks
to me louder than words ever could.
