Dare We Possess a Joyous Faith?

What shall sprinkle
your life with joy?
What twinkles your eyes
and sparkles your tongue
with confection?

When music reaches your ears,
what gives it its power
to be heard?
In your belief in The Father,
the love of The Son,
what blessings do you allow
to come in?

Does tragedy’s shadow
lift you to him
as you put on a face
that is grim?
Do you wear your maladies
and obstacles overt
as sackcloth and embers
to show how you’re hurt,
Thinking the while
that your pain on this side
will brighten and lighten
the next stage of your life?

Is your fasting for others
in prayer and in praise,
or for your own edification
are your groanings raised?
We all face our tragedies,
we all face our pains,
but our loving Brother
has hold of the reins.

He lifts us and love us
and seasons our days
and guides us with wisdom
to tender our ways.
The spice of His loving,
the scent He provides
will fill us with joy
more profound than the tide,

If we’ll but let it,
if we’ll accept it in full
joy shall overcome
world’s anguishing pull.

BRAVO!!! YES!!! Oh Virginia, this is such a delightful perfect Sunday read, sweet friend, I believe there are so many different ways to find joy in faith but the one thing they all have in common is that he is what controls them all! (kiss on cheek) Your wonderful words always delight our days and light these pages, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!
