I sit at your feet humbly Lord, And ask that you help me. Restore my peace and confidence, As to how they're meant to be. These past 3 years have been so hard, At times I felt so alone, Knowing you were there sometimes my only comfort, Sorrow and pain my tone. I can't take compliments Lord, I feel they aren't meant, Only said out of politeness, Just like dust through a vent. I doubt many things Lord, I've lost my self esteem, I need your guiding hand Lord, I want to feel the gleam. The gift of poetry Lord, Has saved this humble soul, Given me new friendships, Trying to create beauty my new goal. With your help and understanding Lord, I'll make it through this wilderness, With your loving ways dear Lord, I will again find my happiness. It's lurking just below the surface, I can feel it hiding there, With your love and guidance, Your will will take me there. I pray for your strength dear Lord, To help me get through this, To let me keep learning and growing, And be ensconed in bliss. So with my new found strength, And some patience too, I'll be reborn with my confidence, And all my thanks will be to you. ------------------ Through poetry my heart and soul truly sing... ~Isis~ (Daughter of Mystery) |

Oh, I tell you I've been there, Isis. Passions has been a blessing to me so far as rebuilding self esteem and meeting true friends. I hope you feel the same, because your poetry is a blessing to us all. Michael |

Michael (HUGS) I'm beginning to think we have lots in common you know? Hoot and WhtDove, this is the place for me, I'm at home here and have good, understanding friends here. Thankyou both, Thanks again to Michael for saying my poetry is a blessing for all, I want to believe it, I do! Isis you have displayed emotion and feelings in this poem that I and many others here have felt many of times. I especially agreed with your "I can't take compliments Lord,I feel they aren't meant, Only said out of politeness, Just like dust through a vent." I too feel that all the time, even still....though I am starting to accept them a bit more But you hit the nail on the head when you said all the thanks will be to Him! AMEN! Great poem!
