In His Footsteps I am so sorry dear Savior, That they treated You as they did. You came here to walk among them, Grievous sin from their souls to rid. Yours was a most peaceful mission. They kept on fighting their war. You told them love was the answer. They battled and quarreled the more. Like misbehaving small children They wanted to go their own way. They turned deaf ears to Your warnings. We are doing the same today. There were kindly men who listened, And women who followed Your lead. There were others who betrayed You, Kept silent while watching You bleed. Would I have been a betrayer Or have offered to bear Your cross? Would I have comforted Mary, Mourned along with her at her loss? Blessed were they who staunchly stayed And walked that cruel path with You. I bow my head and humbly pray To be just as faithful and true. Your work has not been completed Until all of mankind has heard. Please choose me Lord, as one of those, Who's needed to carry Your word. I yearn to serve in some small way, Help to bring peace to Earth some day. We are my friend "In His Footsteps" and though it may seem small in comparison, we do have our very own crosses to bear and a wonderful message to carry and share as Jesus did. You are doing a fine job of servanthood, as seen through your poetry here.
