To Be a Cloud I'd like to be a cloud that flies Above the earth, across the skies. That looks upon the varied scene Of gold and brown, of blue and green And if outside of Heaven's door, The angels swoop and sometimes soar, Perhaps they'd like to rest upon A fluffy cloud, to stretch and yawn. To take a nap while floating there, With breezes tangling their hair. Perhaps a mountain top just might Persuade me to remain all night, Snagged upon the top and resting, While the moon is slowly cresting. Illuminating peaks and hills, As every vale and valley fills With shadows dark and dense that hide, Everything that hides insde. I'd travel onward the next day Until the wind blew me away And I would wander back to see If God could use a cloud like me!
