Black Birds Four confused Black Birds Standing on the ground Perplexed by human wandering One takes flight, at Thunders’ sound Three sadden Black Birds Feet perched around a limb Two cries, there’s no more laughter One finds, his way to the Lamb Two tired Black Birds Rest, up on a rooftop They witness senseless sorrows One leaves, in search of Doves One relentless Black Bird Glide upon the sea To listen for weeping spirits Lone journeys, for God to see Four rapturous Black Birds Stand at Heaven’s Gate One told Of human wandering And thunder, striking the ground One told Of lack of laughter And teardrops in despair One told The sorrows of life And each comfort, from above One told Of broken spirits Renewed, by Jesus touch Four Angels home from journeys Protector’s, of Heavens’ Love ©, 2001 The Napkin Writer |
