When our first child, Michelle, went home to You, at three months, the pain was unbearable. And I asked "why"? When we were told, there would be no other child, without her genetic scars' we mourned, and asked "why"? Then you gave us Faith, and we held it fast. Six miracles! Six beautiful children later. Would we be so deeply grateful? Would we so profoundly know, the gift of a perfect child. Would my heart beat with joy, the way it does, when I see each face? Would I feel blessed among women? Because Your love prevailed, and turned all things to good. Knowing we are called to your purpose. 02 |

Ellie, this poem, touches me deeply. your loss is unimaginable...and leaves me with no true expression. this beautiful poems speaks to your strength and wisdom and your poetic talent. My parents lost a child, my sister was born with a Genetic Illness and the doctors told them not to have more. They went on to 4 healthy children... doctors know medicine...God knows miracles. thank you for sharing this very personal poem with us. We can all learn from its message of unwaivering faith. take care, janet marie |

Isn't it wonderful, Ellie, that God doesn't prove his promises on paper--but on the very favric of our lives? Heartbreak only sets the stage for our seeking and by faith claiming the further & exalted blessing the Lord has for us once He's really got our attention. May God continue to bless you more and more! David "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

Ellie, this a is beautiful tribute to the wonder of God's love through suffering. Forthe first 4 yrs. of our married life, I cried thinking we'd never have children....we have 5, plus 13 grandchildren. What blessings! So often through the trials of raising our children, I'd remember that emptiness I once had. |

Ellie what a beautiful poem - your faith is so secure no doctor's advice will shatter your belief that God performs miracles, and indeed works all things for the good of those who are called according to His purpose. That is one of my absolute favourite scriptures in the whole bible, and it's so awesome seeing you stand so firmly on it! Isn't God a gracious and giving God? Great poem, great talent, great read! |

Thanks you for your poem. It's a wonderful illustration of my favorite verse. I've always loved Romans 8:28. One of my favorite Bible stories is the story of Joseph, who though sold into Egypt as a slave and falsely accused of a crime, rose to prominence that he otherwise could not have enjoyed. How he must have wondered what God was doing during his darker years! But he was able to see God's hand in everything, even if he didn't have the answers always at his fingertips. Dear Ellie, (can't believe I missed this one too) First thought that came to my mind after reading your poem was what God did for Sarah and Abraham, miracle Issac, if you will; How God opened Leah's womb, because of His compassion for her; Leah was so pleased with her first born, second, third then fourth; Ruben,Simeon,Levi and Judah. God is the same yesterday and today. He is a wonderful Savior and your poem gives Him all the glory. Amen. Marcy |

Ellie you are truly a faithfull and loving servant. God smiled on you then and smiles on you now. Wow 6 children. I love it! I think that this is very soothing for sadness. Motherhood has its heartache and its glorious joys. Sincerely Rwood |
