Why is it so easy in times of dire need to lean into your open arms and upon your comforts feed? Why is it so simple when we feel so all alone to reach out for your guiding hand in hopes of finding our home? Why is it so tolerated that we should raise some doubt of what our purpose in life is for and what you are all about? Why is it so manageable for us to stay in bed when Sunday's morn would be better spent worshipping you instead? Why is it so difficult in times of harmonious angst to kneel before you humbly and offer you our thanks? [This message has been edited by January Flowers (edited 02-28-2000).] |

Good questions indeed--and the Bible helps give us answers- like, "The Sprirt is willing, but the flesh is weak"(Matt.26:41b)/or(Gal.5:17)"For the Flesh lusts against the Spirit, and th Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish." How then can we change that and break the dowrard spiral?(v. 16) "I say then"Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh." Thank you for your Important questions -I hope we can truly apply God's Answers & solutions. David "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

WHY INDEED? As callous as we may be, He awaits that we may see, Our hand He will not force, To keep us on His course, But his presence is always near, To draw us in so dear. Thanks for your thoughtful writting. Dennis :^) |

Welcome! Questions we all do or should ask ourselves instead of asking God why He does or doesn't do what we want or expect. Very nice poem. |

Thank you all very much for the warm reception into the spiritual forum. I've been posting all this time in the Open Forums, and I thought some of my poetry may be better suited for "this" forum. This poem "just happened" Sunday morning, as I was washing dishes, preparing my house for guests, instead of attending church that morning. Funny how some of the most beautiful, thoughtful writings just "come to us" with so little effort. I take many things in life as a sign, and I guess that was a very big neon one for me! I'm so glad you all enjoyed it. ![]() |
