Father in heaven hold me fast.
Keep me rooted in your Word.
Let not the cares and tribulations,
   the shifting sands of life,
and uncertainties and doubts,
prey upon this soul of mine.
   Father, rout this fear
   from within my heart,
that I will not be lost to it,
    when troubles come.
I believe, help my unbelief.
    Lest I fall into despair,
build my faith on solid ground.
Grant me faith that's tried
         and true.
Let me feel it deep within,
   thine everlasting arms.
Please forgive this tepid soul,
   her doubts and fears.
    Shore me as a bulwark,
    strong and true.
A stanchion against the advisary.
So I may be your soldier strong,
to spread your word, bring forth
       your Love.
