A friend of mine commented, of late < !signature-->'Bout something that I deemed worthwhile, "If you believe in God, you believe in the devil" She said and then flashed a big smile. If someone should say, "In Satan believe!" You'd think that they have gone mad, Or maybe they're into devil-worship-- And if that's so--then it's sad. But I am a Christian, a child of God And this message is on the level, If you really believe in God Above, Then you'll also believe in the devil. That's not to say, "Trust Satan." Trust him with nothing you've got, But truly believe that he does exist-- Putting your true trust in God! The devil's a slippery serpent In his mission, he's out to deceive, He'll promise you things which sound so good Just hoping that you will believe. We're warned 'bout "the wiles of the devil" Not giving him 'nary a foothold, For by receiving his damaged goods So doing, we endanger our souls! If to the devil we will stand up Believing in God and His Son, The devil has no alternative But to tuck his tail and run! So friends, hear well when I say this: Trust in God, and in Satan believe. Then Power you'll have, to overcome sin And a vict'ry o'er Satan, you'll receive! "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- [This message has been edited by deleeme (edited 03-10-2000).] |

Boy, have I learned this....What a great poem David, it's something I've thought about often, and I do believe he is around, in the deceit, betrayals, in the consuming confusion I sometimes feel, but, I've learned to call for the Lord at those times, and He never fails to chase ol' satan away....Thanks for sharing this. Couldn't wait to read this when I saw the title! I know I've at times found such comfort in Christ I tend to forget Satan hasn't vanished, especially when I'm on the verge of falling for one of his tricks that appears so biblically based except for some little diviation. He quotes scripture and believes in God, we often forget, so he's even trickier yet. Thanks so much, David. |

Amen, David! Good going! Something I learned a long time ago, when I think ole Satan is snooping around, I say "outloud", "get out of here Satan, I have been washed in the BLOOD OF JESUS." Satan can not stay around those words and he'll skoot out fast!! He hears what we say and see's what we do, but he doesn't have access to our hearts or minds. God bless you David, a poem well done and a powerful message. Love you, Marcy |

David wonderful! James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. He has given us power over ALL our enemies! Great poem David! |
