My Guardian Angel I've never seen At least I don't recall, Perhaps I knew him at one time When I was very small. I'm sure we played together When his voice I could hear, That made me a happy baby "So cute, and full of cheer!" When I still spoke the native tongue That God's little angels e'er keep, 'Fore Mom and Dad went and spoilt it-- By teaching me "how to speak!" So any description that I can give On my imagination must rely, So this is more how I'd like him to be-- He must be a TERRIFIC guy! This little feller I'll call Jim (In Heav'n last names don't fly), Unless you're John T. Baptist-- Why that's so? Don't ask me why! And tho' Jim is a wee one No cherub is he, I knows, For Guardian Angels come fully equipped-- (And that includes their clothes!) Jim's dressed for all occasions A little Derby is his crown (Tied with string under his chin) Over which his halo's found! And yes, Ellie, he wears Sneakers For he always stays on call. So that if I ever need him He's there in no time at all! He carries a Rainbow umbrella When tough storms of life I'm finding, Reminding me that not all are bad-- To look for the "silver lining!" On his knees, he wears knee pads Tho' clouds I've been told, are quite soft, To encourage me oft' to kneel in prayer-- Send requests up to heaven's loft. And though I can't now see him He's helped me many times, as I've said. For if I had not been protected Many times I could have been dead! When it comes to Guardian Angels And seeking a rating for them, I'd say of mine, resolutely-- I think that my JIM's a GEM!!! David; This is a winner and I had a nice chuckle. "sneakers" haha! I love the lightness and the whimsy. Won't it be interesting when we get to heaven and find out how much our angels did for us? I think we'll be shocked. Great job on answering the challenge! Ellie 02 |

Dear David, Wonderful, amusing, discription of your guardian angel. I just loved this poem. I truely believe in guardian angels and beleive that I saw mine when I was about six years old.
