Just for Today And for tonight,too, My life I will devote And Prove myself true. Just for Today I won't dwell on past mistakes, Which only brings me down And makes my heart to ache. Just for Today I'll seek my soul's cleansing, To free me from defilement Thro' the Gracious Help You're lending. Just for Today I won't take on the world's cares, I have enough of my own But will seek God to bless all thro' prayer. Just for Today I will seek peaceful relations, And do my best to promote Peace within, and among all nations. Just for Today I will seek my "daily bread," And seek present sustenance As on Thy Word, I'm fed. Just for Today With the breath given me, I will praise Thy Holy name O Thou, so True, Worthy! Just for Today I will reach out with Love, And uplift those who are hurting With God's Goodness from above. Just for Today I will plant the seeds of Tomorrow, That in time will bring Joy's fullness And spare me from future sorrow. Just for Today I will carry my cross, And for my dear King of Kings Count all things for Christ, but lost. Just for Today And each day, a day at a time, I will live out my life As your Strength, I find. Just for Today I will be in touch, 'Cause Your Fellowship Divine To me, means so much. And if for Today For all these things I strive, I'll not be possessed of idle hands But will truly be Alive! "BUT WILL TRULY BE ALIVE"! David, this is so beautiful! I had to read it twice and I'm going back for a third helping, each time something new hits me, but that last line is so poigniant. David, I totally agree with Ellie! I do hope that you share this poem with others today. It is so beautiful, uplifting and Inspiring!!
