My Weakness, His Strength It was many years ago But I still remember the day When I finally fell to my knees And silently began to pray I did not ask for miracles Just wept in my confession His cleansing was my desire Only He could remove The devastation within Wrought by my sinners heart Cold and hard like stone With downcast eyes I asked His forgiveness Knowing all the while That I was undeserving Why should he? After what I had done With this precious life He had given me? A weak and pitiful human Filthy in His sight But I was wrong Oh, so gloriously wrong! I began to feel his love A warmth enveloping me Like a soft cocoon My unfeeling heart jumped And tears flowed How could this be? Surely I am not worthy! But as I lifted my eyes I knew He was there My body tingled And my mind reeled In such wonderous sensations As my Lord and Saviour Revealed himself to me Worthless, pitiful me! How could He love me so? To this day I don't know But I rejoice in His forgiveness And the life He gave to me I am no longer who I was For I have been made new He has taken my sins And thrown them from me "As far as the east is from the west." I know that in His eyes My crimson stain Is now as white as wool For He has paid the price In His shed blood I am cleansed And as I fall upon His promises I try to live each day As if He were returning tomorrow (C) 4/6/00 Gary Pence "A poet is someone who is astonished by everything." - anonymous |

Wonderful! You are blessed, as we all are, who know the Lord and have been held in His Love and redeemed. Thank you for this beautifully written account of the greatest moment of your life. Ellie 02 |

Thank you everyone! This is the first time I have attempted to put that day into words. Even now, the words do not seem adequate. "A poet is someone who is astonished by everything." - anonymous |

Jonas, What a wonderful account of seekking, and sumbimission to divine love, inspite of unworthiness. A Lovely poem here. And always remember if you earned it--it wouldn't be Grace. Thank God for the Unmerited favor of Jesus! David |
