MY DISASTEROUS MISCALCULATION & DOOM As we were eating the Paschal Meal I dipped sop with Him, then said He, Have not I chosen you Twelve? Yet surely, one of you will betray me! Though the others were in denial I knew too well, He had meant me, I wasn't counting on His perceptiveness I soon left, how dark the night was to me! I knew He would go to the Garden Where oft' He resorted and prayed, So I gathered the mob with their torches Who advanced with their swords and their staves. I thought that it would go quite easy And by plan, I approached with a kiss, When I did, Jesus asked,"Friend, what are you doing?" I had not thought it would happen like this. Sure enough they would make their prize captive, As He calmly surrendered, unscathed, He said,"Why treat me like a vile criminal-- Is this not what the Prophets forespake?" I knew then and there, I'd really messed up So I'd just best take the money and run, But strangely, the loot left me so unfulfilled-- (O God, what, oh what have I done?) I spent that night without sleeping My guilty conscience all raging within, How could I have sold Him into their hands That Sinless One, who called me His Friend? I resolved that I must go undo this To them, return this paltry sum, Then they would lose my dear Jesus At least, that's what I thought would be done. But much to my utter misgiving I found them so totally cruel, They had what they wanted--NO DEAL! They had used me, and had made me their fool! Now I was a man alienated From my country and the Lord I let down, Oh nothing to me is of value Their stupid coins, in the temple, I threw down! I have sinned and there seems no undoing I hope from my misery you'll learn, When you allow yourself to work for the devil Then surely, like me, you'll get burned! In my greed, I turned my life to ruin I have nothing now worth living for, I held not on to Jesus, my Life's Greatest Gift-- So I'll go take my life-be no more! Yes, I, Judas Isacariot Hope by my vain life YOU will see, Hold on to the LORD, and sell Him for nought Lest you want to share doom here with me! "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- [This message has been edited by deleeme (edited 04-08-2000).] |

David; This is so terribly sad and true. I'm really at a loss for words here. You have written well of the ultimate tradgedy. Turning away from Jesus is the only tradgedy. Right now I feel profound gratitude that He has given me the Grace of faith. Judas commited the worst sin of all, to not believe and turn away from Him. For Jesus would have forgiven even Judas had he but believed. Ellie 02 |

David - This, is totally awesome. I read the first part and jumped right to the second. The modern day language makes it such an easy read that even children would be engrossed, and understand the lesson here. Thanks, Bonnie |

David, this is some excellent writing from the eyes of Judas! How Satan was used to fulfill the negative part of God's plan, through Judas. He (Judas), threw the silver back, on the floor. Judas had repented. Matt. 27:3 Just a note here, in Acts 1:18 he fell forward, and burst asunder from the midst and all his bowels gushed out. *They don't think that was suicide but that he was actually murdered. You've done an excellent job David. You are very gifted! God bless you!!! <*\\\>< YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU! |
