[Due to the extended length of this poem- I have divided it up into 4 parts. Following the final installment, I will supply the scriptural references
which I used as a basis.-dlw]

PART ONE: Off to a Bad Start

For those of you who will listen
I have an account to give,
Of an awful day I was having
(Sometime's life's so hard to live!)

As Governor of Judea
A Roman Province of the Jews,
I'm used to having turmoil--
So my power I have to use.

But this one particularly bad day
Even now sticks out in my mind,
I found it most upsetting
The Jews being so unkind!

It started early on that morning
I was sommoned from the Praetorium,
A Jewish mob was brewing
They with a condemned man, had come.

They said,"He's perverting the nation
And claims to be Christ, the King,
Forbidding payment to Caesar
We think he should pay for these things!"

I am a Political Figure
In religion I get not involved,
I told them, "You have your own laws
Why can't you, this problem resolve?"

They said, "He deserves to die!
We'd put him to death, if we could,
But Roman Laws now prevent us
And so we think that You should!"

These were some serious charges--
So I agreed I would examine this man,
To determine if there was any basis
For such drastic acts to be done.
