A mountain of ancient trees Bowing to touch the spilling of cold, clear water Across rocks of molton age Fingers of fern waving To get attention beneath the canopy Of shade and filtered light The grapevine nets Catching dreams Like prehistoric spiderwebs Moss grows beneath my feet I stand and take root I breath in the humid drops Of mist within the clouds Hovering among the trunks Of strength and fertility Up high, life is still The mystical mountains of old You can watch the mushrooms sprout If you stand quietly You can hear the Lady's Slipper Walk across the fallen logs The smell of light beams Through the tree leaves Are like warm honeysuckle breezes The Song of the birds Bounces off the cliff walls And comes back to them In their quiet dark hiding So that they never feel alone Flora and fern, woody lineage Sticks of broken boughs One can always trod Lightly, and ever so quietly And hear the voice of God |

Regina - Oh, how I love the smoky mountains. The imagery you have created with your words is incredible. And what a picture you've painted with your pen. Just beautiful. Bonnie |

RWood~ This talks to me softly, as nature does. I am at ease. As though I returned to the beautiful area of which you speak .. and found a wonderful serenity. Thank you for sharing. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Oh Regina! You took me back to the mountains of Colorado! This is awesome, in your imagery, you take one right there, and they're able to witness what it is you see! That is excellent writing! I love the sun shining through the trees, the sound of water rushing, the birds singing their praise. Most excellent! <*\\\>< When you can't make up your mind, Which way is right for you, Stop and softly ask yourself, "What Would Jesus Do?" |

Thanks everyone so much. I pray that everyone can feel what I feel here in this beautiful place. I invite all to join nature in the mountains. It's as if it is a piece of heaven. You all just make it better...much better! Sincerely, Rwood |

Regina, A gift from God, you have. This poem captured the sweetess and sounds of God's nature, sight of mountains from beneath the shaded tree. I found myself feeling so light hearted reading this work of art. Love, Marcy |
