Dusk was gently bringing the night, As evening settled in, Stars were starting to glisten, Through the curtain of darkness again. Bull frogs were out there singing, In their raspy, croaking voice, Bats were swooping through the air, As they caught their bug of choice. Masked racoons were coming in, Rooting around for food, Owls were hooting softly, Safe in the barn with their brood. Gentle breezes rustled the leaves, Of the silver maple tree, The only light, now from the moon, Guiding the way for me. As my eyes adjusted to the dark, And I looked around this night, Nature and life surrounded me, Shadowed, yet bathed in soft light. And suddenly it occurred to me, Most days I don't notice this scene, I don't take the time to drink it in, The day's end, so calm and serene. But You have shown me tonight Lord, And I'll remember to send up a prayer, To thank You for opening my eyes to see, That in darkness, Your beauty's still there. |

Dearest Bonnie; Oh, how this lovely poem just flows with your usual grace and beauty, that could only come from your peaceful spirit. You are a truly gifted poet! You have eyes that will always see beauty. ok, now the waterfall is just around the corner. Now I'm convinced that you must live in an utter paradise! Any chance we can get my husband a job there? I want to move next door! Love, Ellie 02 |

"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork, Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge." (Psalm 19:1-2) Bonnie, You have wonderfully captured with your pen and keen sense of discernment, some of God's Glory as seen in the shades of the night--a glorius reminder to us all! Thank you and God bless you! David "Our Creativity points to a Higher Creator--we couldn't have just happened, and for what ability we may possess--to God be the glory." -dlw- |

BSC, Just Beautiful!! For some reason I want to write, you have shown us how the scales fall from our eyes, opening beauty where there was darkness. God Bless You Always and keep writting and sharing. Thanks, Marcy |

Bonnie once again you've written another one, all your work is right up with there among my favorites! Your gift with imagery is just something else! You describe such scenes in your work you leave a person breathless. This was just AWESOME! How we do tend to over look the beauty even at night. Thank you for taking me to such a place, to view the beauty along side of you! <*\\\>< Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. |
