As I walked along in silence,
Clouds cushioning my bare feet,
Streaks of pastels forming an arc,
As at last we finally meet.
I can feel a weight on my shoulders,
But it's not like a burden to bear,
It's a delicate, little tug I feel,
Those two precious wings back there.
Something is atop my head,
I reach up to see what it is,
A tiara of sweet purple violets,
Made from that garden of His.
Looking down to see what I'm wearing,
It's a robe in the color of cream,
As soft as the purest, lightest down,
Oh, what a glorious dream.
Around me are fields of daisies,
Where tiny cherubs are playing, carefree,
Chasing each other around the stars,
Without even a notice of me.
Ahead, a radiant light beckons,
Lilacs perfume the air,
Gentle chords from golden harps;
His presence is everywhere.
Angels tenderly guide me,
To the edge of a pond where He sits,
Bunnies and fawns nibble the grass,
In this place of peaceful bliss.
He reaches out His majestic hand,
And has me sit down by His side,
I dip my toes in the water,
That reflects the love that abides.
Startled, I am wide awake,
More refreshed than I've ever been,
A sweeter dream, I've never had,
As I saw a glimpse of heaven.
