Hi Kevin, First I must admit, I don't have a clue what Scientologists are, so forgive my county lady ignorance.(First Response) (Corrected Response) I first replied in innocence, having done that, now I must reply in truth, having asked the meaning of your statement prior to your poem. I am sorry I replied.I must leave no room for doubt as to whom I serve. This is not personal, since I replied openly, I must now correct openly. Please forgive me. I am a Christian. Saved through the blood of Jesus, who willingly died on the cross, that you and I may be forgiven our sins. He is the only way to achieve eternal life. He is a personal Savior. He answers prayers, He heals and He loves us, even those that do not believe or accept Him, he still loves them and died on the cross for us all, that we may have eternal life. If you do not know Jesus, and would like more information, please email me. I would be glad to give scriptures and personal testimonies of His saving grace. Jesus is who I serve. I am His servant. He is my everything. Please forgive my misconception of your poem. Blessings, marcy [This message has been edited by Alle'cram (edited 05-10-2000).] |

You are sorry you replied? There was nothing in your reply (before edit) that diminished, altered etc your faith. You said that, as you understood Total Freedom, that you hoped to achieve that goal with Jesus Christ and heaven. Of course! You could not achieve that without your faith. No one could. I do not know what you were told that upset you. It does not matter. This forum is about Spiritual Journeys. And this poem is about mine. It is not to invite you in. Nor to do anything but acknowledge the founder of my religion on a day important to those of us who try to improve our lives along this path. It occurs to me that my post may have offended some here. Did I misunderstand the purpose of this forum? I would not tread where I should not, so let me know and I will handle it. Kevin "Poetry is, at once, what you get... and how you got there." |

Kevin, Your poem is an admirable one honoring one whom you obviously hold in high esteem. Tho' I am in no way connected with Scientology, myself, I can respect that you seek to give honor to whom you feel honor is due. Thank you for sharing this with us. Dear Kevin, Because this is a spiritual forum and with my initial reply there may have been room for misunderstanding as to whom I serve, I felt I had to clearify that aspect for my benefit. You are correct, my first reply should have been left, without correction. Having said that, it is not a bad thing to hear truth spoken once, then move on. I am not held accountable, after once speaking to show someone who may not have heard the good news. Your poem reflects your light. I respect your truth, your religion for you. Too bad, for me, posts were delayed by others. Blessings to you my friend, marcy |

Kevin - I must say thanks, you know for years I remember seeing commercials for L. Ron Hubbard's "Dianetics" and I never knew what the book was about...I'll tell you, one never stops learning in this forum. And, a nice tribute you have paid to him. Bonnie |

Thank you for your many replies.. I didn't mean to stir anything up. I re read my answer and it is a bit abrupt. I wasn't upset... just a little puzzled and afraid I had offended. Having been raised in a Judeo-Christian culture I have had many occasions to speak with Christian about their beliefs (many of which I hold) and I am aware that there is a BIG difference between bigotry and disagreement. One is motivated by hate. The other, like Marcy's answer, was not. I was surprised, not offended. I read the poems here, whether they be Christian, Jewish, Agnostic, Wiccan or otherwise, with interest. There is a Christian fellow named John Dennis who wrote in 1704... "And I have Reason to believe that one of the Principal Reasons, that has made the Modern Poetry so contemptible, is, that by divesting it self of Religion, it is fall'n from its dignity, and its original Nature and Excellence, and from the greatest production of the Mind of Man, is dwindled to an extravagant and a vain Amusement. "But that the Modern Poetry as miserably as it is fall'n from the Dignity of its original Nature, might gloriously arise and lift up its Head, surpassing ev'n that of the Ancients, if the Poets would but constitute their Subjects Religious." I agree wholeheartedly. And your poetry... YOUR poetry ... gives me hope. So lets end this misunderstanding and head on down the road a bit and into the Joy of Creation. < !signature--> Kevin "Poetry is, at once, what you get... and how you got there." Dear Kevin; I have to plead ignorance, I don't know much about Dianetics, but have heard of it. I've found in the past, that by reading up on different religions, I gain much insight. Thanks for your poem here. I'm looking forward to checking out your web page that I'm hearing about! Ellie 02 |
