As they leapt from cloud to cloud, Off to the side all by himself, A little one sat, head bowed. Walking over and kneeling down, I asked him what was wrong, With elbows perched on chubby legs, He told his tale in song. The sweetest voice I've ever heard, Perfectly hit each note, As he related his little worries, About his troublesome coat. Shortly I came to realize, He was singing of his wings, Believing they were much to small, "I'll never fly," he sings. I took his little hand in mine, And placed him on my knee, So he could see the cherubs, Their small wings flying free. I heard the softest, sweetest gasp, As something brushed my arm, His downy feathers gently flapped - He turned around in alarm. Suddenly he was soaring, Surprise in his big blue eyes, His giggles like delicate music, As he glided through the skies. Knowing that forevermore, Those wings would see him through, His halo brightly glowing, As away with the others he flew. Over the clouds and through the stars, Playing hide 'n seek with the sun, These precious little cherubs, By His side, and having fun. [This message has been edited by BSC (edited 05-16-2000).] |

Oh, Bonnie, I love those cherubs that you write about. Is the little hidden message that we can fly no matter what equipment God has given us? This is a sweet and precious poem. I'm glad you enjoyed Mary's column. Is ther a fireplace? I've always wanted one! Love, Ellie 02 |

BSC, What a delightful journey in the clouds to witness a joyous transistion of the (catapillar) angel into a beautiful butterfly angel! This narrative is so lighthearted and joyful, that I could almost here that angelic song that you described! My spirit is lifted and my soul wants to sing too! Thank you for this wonderful vision. Well written! Dennis :^) |

Bonnie, Loved this poem. The little cherub could always fly, unknown to him, how you held him and reassured him, gave him courage so he could fly and laugh too. Great message you have given us. Good reminder, so beautifully written. Blessings to you, marcy |

BSC~ This little poem has touched my heart. Thank you so much for the message. We can all fly higher ... with a little bit of help from our friends. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
