This poem was written by the love of my life, And she thinks she's LUCKY !!. Thankyou Honey XXXOOO As I sit in contemplation of my life before we met. I can only truly marvel at the time that we have spent, I moves me beyond thought or words, to tell you how I feel And I have to keep on blinking to make sure it is real. ~ I feel like sleeping beauty who has slept her life away, And woken with surprise as the darkness turns to day, The world looks somewhat different from perceptions of before, And it beckons me inviting, to taste life’s simple store. ~ Like a billowing cloud of thunder as it keeps the rain at bay, My world of grey and pallor have gone and moved away, And when the grey clouds part and the sun comes shining through I look up towards the rays of light and feel like I’m renewed. ~ What good deed have I done to be blessed with such as you, A person soft and gentle with a heart that’s fair and true, You’ve shown me love and happiness, a joy beyond compare, Dreams like these I’d locked away and never hoped to share. ~ My heart swells deep within me and awakens from its sleep, And it warms to who and what you are and that I want to keep, A new hope soars within my heart that all is not a dream, There’s sunlight in my life now, it surrounds me in it’s beam. ~ As a butterfly unfolds and spreads it’s wings to let them dry, I feel that I’ve come home and can’t help but heave a sigh I thought that I had lost the plot of life’s simplistic pleasures, But I know it’s all around me in all of natures treasures. ~ So hold me in your arms, when I’m weak and can’t see through, Be my eyes and tell me, what the world looks like to you, Your words will lead me on, to a better, brighter place, I’ll see it written in your eyes and etched across your face. ~ An when my life is through and I run my final race, I’ll smile a blissful smile as I stare into your face, ‘Cause I know you’ll always be there, in this life and the next, I want to tell you always, you are the very best. My awakening I too contemplate, My life before we met, And sit in wondrous awe, Of path that we have set. ~ I understand your struggle, To express what’s in your heart, I often have to pinch myself, Incase this dream departs. ~ You are my sleeping beauty, With hair that’s golden spun, Eyes of blue green passion, You are my rising sun. ~ You have no want of deeds, To feel the power of love, For I feel that you deserve it, This gift from up above. ~ So awaken from your sleep, For this is not a dream, Bath your self in happiness, In sunlight’s golden beam. ~ Spread your wings and fly, See the beauty all around, Enjoy simplistic pleasures, For there’s many to be found. ~ I’ll hold you in my arms, When you’re weak and you’re alarmed, Fear not for my absence, For this heart’s been truly charmed. ~ You can be my rising sun, And I will be your sight, We’ll sample all that life can give, Until our final night. Paul, This is exquisite. Linda's and equally your reply. Love has a way of bringing forth the most beautiful works. These poems are perfect compliments of each other as I am sure you and Linda are. My heart smiles to even know such love can exist. Never take this blessing for granted. Michael |
