Longing For Home Her days are always much the same, not much that she can do. Life doesn't offer lots of choice for someone eighty two. She waits in hope of company and dreams of yesterday. And yearns to live the life she knew , before he went away. She knows he didn't go by choice, but still it hurts the same. So often she can't help but cry when someone says his name. How could it be that fifty years so swiftly flew away? Inside her mind she hears his voice, "it beckons her to come." She longs to simply close her eyes and follow his call home. |

RainChild~ This is really a touching piece. The bonds you speak of are so tender. Those memories that call her to join one she loved so are strong. I do a lot of visitations at an area nursing home ... it is so touching to hear people talk of the 'call' of loved ones gone. Lovely thoughts, hon. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
