What inspired me to write this poem was a couple of men that I have had encounters with, assuming that bragging and boasting about what they can do for me would impress me, but the majority of these men didn't do anything but just talk. The funny thing about these scenarios was that I was attracted to them anyway, and they didn't have to say anything to try and impress me!(But ended up messing things up for themselves just by talking too much) This issue has been on my mind for quite some time These feelings of you that I have kept bottled So that I wouldn't explode like a land mine But now they are starting to burn my insides So from this day on my thought I won't hide Do you know that I like you for you It's not always about the things that you do Or shall I say don't do Because you haven't done much But made a bunch of empty promises In which I'm tired of such Lies & lies, I feel that I can't trust You have turned into a stain And your words are the rust Things would be better If you could keep your mouth closed And stop spreading fabrications That shouldn't be exposed If you never intended to do it You shouldn't have said it from the start Because you can say anything on your mind But it counts when it's from the heart Your interpretations of impressing a woman are absolutely wrong Because any man can go around sing those sad ole' songs Actions speak louder than words, there is no statement truer So you need to be less of a sayer, and start being more of a doer |
