This is my perfect escape-
to sit vigil at water's edge,
its serenity exploding into lush green.

With nature's mood so quiet,
and the sky a palest blue,
translucent as polished glass,
my mind stops - intoxicated.

A haunting stillness seduces me
into new levels of invasive splendor,
captivating my senses

The world, or this timeless piece of it,
seems a good and gentle place.

(free verse anyone? sorry, I've got no meter or rhyme today up my sleeve.)

Works for me, I don't have a clue about meter and all that stuff. Really nice and love this bit

Thanks all - you inspire me to remain a "free spirit" - rhymes and meters only for those rainy days when I won't be able to get out.
