Hanging up “I love you” you breathed the words softly and time stood still For an instant we were as before Your voice reached out to me— A lover’s caress in the dark I felt the familiar warmth envelop me once again As my pulse raced I asked what you said Your reply was short— “Nothing”— and my pain returned |

I felt the flow through hope and back into pain. Emotions such as this are sometimes hard to express, but you have done it so very well... hold onto the joy and release the pain ... keep on writing it out  Peppermint Life is a Wheel |

Elizabeth and Alan, I agree with you both. "nothing" hurts more than anything. Sandra, it's hard to hold on to the "I love you" when it hurts almost as much. BDC and Charisma, that was beautifully put. "woven with tears instead of ink". Even in reaching out to comfort me, you are poetic. peppermint35, how do you hold onto the joy when pain has been apliqued over it? Sven, the loving moments WERE strung together into a beautiful necklace, like pearls. When we parted, the string broke and sent those memories scattering across the floor. That's all I have left. Unstrung pearls. Victoria, he can express his emotions, although I'm sure it's just as hard for him as it is for me. He's a poet, I'm willing to bet he's got several poems lying around, unposted. Take me as I am or watch me as I go |
