Slowly, night approached. Street-lamps are ablaze. From up high I watch As the willow sways. Coiled smoke floats high From my cigarette, As I wonder why You and I have met. When I heard you speak, I was hypnotized And my knees got weak When I saw your eyes. Life was fine somehow Just before you came, But I know that now It won’t be the same. I can’t even think... All appears so blurred... Bonded by the ring, I can’t part with her... But, my heart is yours And with you it stays. Silence. Nothing stirs, Just the willow sways. |

I really love this piece... beautiful description of "hopeless love". Like Albert said, some great imagery and flow. Thanks for sharing. ![]() "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

I often relate the Willow tree with lonliness and depression. Do you? I liked this poem. Thought the ending was superb. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
