![]() The Little Mermaid Grandmother spoke in quiet tone, to her granddaughters, when alone of mystical, magical delights ~ surface people, away from sight in green and gold scaled sequined skin, young mermaids around her did swim, in hopes to hear her fantasies, in truth, sounded…as mysteries… "In your fifteenth year, you will find all sights to see that is mankind, a dry, great world, spirits run free but we can only watch, and see." Littlest mermaid, so entranced wanted so much, a given chance excitement increased, year by year to see dreams of mankind appear Atlantis had sunk, long ago statue of boy, her only show playing a flute, she would then gaze, dream of people in airy haze So when, after long years of wait she then flew up to ocean’s gate and saw a ship magnificent bewailed, ocean’s incalescent a goodsome Prince, toward ship’s stern slipped, then fell, and the ocean churned horrified, the young maid quickened before the Prince’s lungs thickened she rescued quick, young Prince’s form and in shadows, watched in the morn he was discovered, and revived her joy complete, he had survived in silent trow, she realized the Prince had captured much, a prize her heart was his, in dismal stress a comprehend, but no bequest deferred to deep, she then did go but in her mind, he stayed then, so she looked at her fish-form, dismayed, grieved for what she could not allay But the deeps held a witch of sea who would exchange, in chemistry young maiden’s tongue for her fresh soul as to deprive the tug of old but if maid lose to another winsome lass, why then, not bother for to sea foam she would return and with the seas, forever churn Little Mermaid, so deep in love nodded passive, her heart above bid her family, fond adieux then to the brink, with freedom flew she drank strong potion, then she felt the fins quickened, and two legs dwelt and on the shore, her form was found by the young Prince, whose heart now bound to wed another, the tales profound a Prince in love, in sorrow drowned, the mermaid, her heart sore, now wept, understood the vow she had kept in silence, she could not entreat the Prince, to avow her love sweet but silence, a darkness replete to his fiancé, nodded greet When ceremony came, she sought the winds of sea, for she had fought the gift the sea nymphs had given her a dagger, end Prince’s life’s stir but, when she held the dagger o’er his shadowed form, she cowered, so his love, for her, though incomplete twined in her heart, forevermore her love, so pure, left him, so sure in deepest sleep, she left his room and racing forth, into the sea, she threw dagger into sea’s bloom At that moment, her time had come but instead of change into sea foam she was carried, steady, aloft to do good deeds, to humans, soft. ‘Twas in the heart of mermaid, long that in blue seas would be love’s song Courtesy, Jim Warren Portraits [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 04-14-2001).] |

I loved this Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning. |
