Caustic Remnants

Caustic remnants of last nights passion:
stale smoke,
can of beer - mostly on the floor,
smell of urine,
knife stuck in the door.
Tossled head of you
lying screwed-up on the bed,
naked here, covered there,
can't believe I was part of this.
Vomit in the bathroom sink,
toliet stopped up,
clothes everywhere.
Looked in the mirror -
cripes, whose that?
Threw up, stumbled back to bed,
kicked you in side telling you move,
up came your head,
glazed eyes looked,
mouth said,
"who the hell are you?"
Caustic remnants…
don't remember the passion,
who cares…
just move over
and go back to sleep.

( chuckling) Not funny..and yet it is....

stark images and a situation not condusive to feeling "good" about yourself...

nicely written... enjoy the grittiness and "real world" feel of it...
