Like Adam’s rib You take a piece of me, Many pieces of me; Digest my paltry worth, Make it better, meaningful. Ribbons of sun soaked heat Pulse through the Venetian blinds, Illuminate a solar grid Across the sheets Stained by our love-making. Ribs and ribbons Lazily lie down to dusk, With you softly spooned against me, The afternoon melts Into creamy deja-vu. |
