In Those Trying Times

There are times when the load seems less heavy
Almost as if they had just gone away
I am filled with a calming peace at that moment
But, those peaceful times do not seem to stay

I think about the promises that he had given us
That, when we may need him the most
He will be right there beside us in trying times
Helping us in those times we may feel the lowest

It is when we are caught up in all our worries
That we so often fail to feel his presence there
When all we need to do is pay attention, and
We will see just how much he really cares

And, in those times we do not feel him there
Those are the times our troubles may be small
It is then that he leaves us for a little while
If we should need him, all we have to do is call
