Is there any way to delete toolbars after they're on the computer? ![]() ~sky Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

One can generally disable toolbars from an options/preferences screen within the toolbar. Alternately, add/remove programs can remove a third-party toolbar, like Yahoo Companion. Another method would be to run msconfig, go to the startup tab, and uncheck the undesired startup items. |

Thanks Ali...I did some further searching on one of the toolbars....turns out it's Intelligent Explorer, which is spyware. They have an "uninstall" program which--surprise--doesn't work! I'm getting so frustrated with this thing..... ![]() ~skyDreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware for Lavasoft's Ad-aware and http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download for SpyBot, both very good programs for finding and removing annoying pc critters. I use both, as each picks up things the other misses. Good huntin! Oh, forgot to mention...they are free for personal use. [This message has been edited by Alicat (12-21-2003 11:44 PM).] |
