On the knoll of the hill Waiting patiently still For the dinner bell call To entice one and all One by one to converge On the perches to merge Keeping time and tradition Taking part with permission At the set of the sun To feast full one by one Some domestic disturbance To be soothed with assurance Each in turn bid adieu All excused when now through Reconnected and fed Take to air Thank You said Copyright Kkh 6/1/02 |

Ah, this is good. For I see both people and birds in this flight of fancy... very good... |

![]() ![]() ![]() (sigh) Wow, this gave me a vision of sitting on the back porch with my grandparents at their house waiting for Grandma to finish the blackberry cobbler, sweet friend, I just love that sound of the dinner bell too! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kathleen, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! The dinner table has always been a place for family communion.....Sadly I think it's waning quickly in this selfish turbulent old world. This is a very well written piece full of respect for moral manners....I thoroughly enjoyed this!! |

Yes, I too saw birds as well waiting their turn to dig in. I have tried to hang onto the family tradition of everyone eating together... but it is hard with shopping hours changed, business hours pretty well 24 hours a day, and everyone going every which way. Well done Kathleen... Very much enjoyed. ~Hugs~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |
