Michael

You are gone, but not
I miss you dearly
And yet when I hear your voice
You are beside me

I long to be safe in your arms
Close and comforted
To hear you heart beating
To know I am loved

I try to imagine
You are there each night
That I can hear you breathing
Your gentle snore

I lay beside your pillow
And just pretend
I pray God to keep you safe
And bring you back to me

And then just as I think
It is more than I can bear
You are back
And my world is whole
