Heard this song- on the radio this morning. Sugary vocals, lamenting strings. Echoed your name in every verse- whispered to me a simple refrain: You understand more than you think you comprehend far more than you know. Soon to find that missing link; just close your eyes and let it go. And as I sit, I think to myself- I must be crazy, to think these things. How could I survive? Love is strong, but money talks- and you have to pay the rent. Miss Spears was right, about one thing: When you're 'not yet a woman', you're too damn overprotected. And I look at my parents, just to say- This little girl, needs to be- free. |
