On Course In younger days, I often thought About the future and my lot. I wondered if my life would be Composed of great longevity, Or if I'd go within my prime And be alloted little time. Then I decided finally, We can't avoid what is to be. Each has a charted course to sail. Though storms may lash us, make us quail, If it is not our destiny To sink into a raging sea, Then we'll survive another day And if God carries us away, We will be in that perfect place And meet our Maker, face to face!
