i took a little green daydream out of the jutting hair of innocence and brought it down to my white garden of sand i covered it with a blanket of hospitality and let it hear the eighteen birds of reason bending and worn i wanted a vivid thing of context embossed with the color of a friend and rushing against the insincere paused outside the mouth of exposed time i try to grab for the worthy twist of fate hiding interposed in the weeds of calm touched by the hand of a palm stroked by the breath of a shell i spoke asthma endearments and babbled glistening promises meant for a longer end a slight breeze of change blew a conch across a field of familiars to my excited arm to grab and blow with all my honesty and call the others to supper |
