I wish all these smiles Were not all your fault As I sit on the opposite end Of a telephone line Reaching towards New England I wish just this once you would Be the cause of some sadness And this telephone line Would be disconnected And New England was just a place up north I wish all this loneliness Was not all your fault As I sit with blank stationary Planning ways to not sound desperate With an envelope addressed to New England |
