Wound-taut skin of my hurting soul Stretched tight across the drum of desire, Spirit-slain casualty of un-fought wars Scathing source of open trench-like scars Needn’t heal...wouldn’t heal…won’t heal… Can’t feel pain anymore The hurting’s gone The pain remains Just in case I breathe again |
