Sailing across a storm tossed sea
The waves pounding upon my bow
Your sparkling green eyes calling to me
To hurry on home right now

Flying before the rising gale
Seeking that much loved shore
Tightly I grasp the leeward rail
As I pray to the gods once more

To keep my foundering ship afloat
To ransom us from this plight
On the horizon I duly note
The glimmer of love's soft light

The fateful journey that kept me away
Could not evict you from my heart
I'll promise to you this very day
Never again shall we be apart

As I approach the lighthouse strand
Your voice cries out in my mind
We slip in the harbor at my command
Leaving the storm clouds behind

I see you standing upon the pier
You shine as bright as the sun
I hurdle the rail as we draw near
And into your arms do I run

Embracing the knowledge that comes from above
No matter how far I might roam
Always the lighthouse lit by your love
Will guide me safely back home
