SILENCE


It's strange.

Tonight I heard an owl hoot
   And I thought the night was going to
                           Consume me.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.

Yes, it was strangely quiet last night,
only an owl in the distance.
And then, it began to rain.
