VERSE

Poetry is spawned of madness.
Oh, I know it sounds bad,
   But it's true.

Inspiration often strikes at the worst possible time,
And even then,
   It is fleeting.

Sometimes, though, it makes more sense.
Often, when a poet is exposed to another kindred soul,
   The mirror reflects.

The result is poetry.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.
