Twenty years
disappeared
lost in time
  spent
     wading through
              the unrelenting chore
                         of surviving you.

It's peculiar how
  even now
I still don't
catch myself
thinking of then
   way back when
               we knew love

until some chance
stir of breeze
floats the scents
of your memory
to cross the path
of a mid day moment

forcing a recollection
        or two
of years vanquished
     once colored           in blue

and I exhale deeply
trying to rid myself
of thoughts the winds
have blown my way

because
     I never
            liked the sense
                      that you wore
                                  anyway...

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....
