I am ever the Queen, never the mistress. Found my way into the heart of the people and they wear the emblem of our country on their chest, a bright green proclaimation. They kneel but never in a permanent bow, for I want no statues in my garden obscuring the growth of the blossoms. Regard me with politeness and step not out of line. I will not fall asleep on my throne though I may dream of having softer hands. I will not turn to wearing shorter dresses. Let the best man win, but know this I am ever the Queen and never the mistress. |
