As I contemplate the passing, Of the shuttle beam of time. And I wonder at the fading- Of my feeble lines of rhyme. And I wonder if they touch you- Within your hidden nook, And lull you into dreamland, Like the dancing of a brook? Do you ever think about me? Do you wonder where I dwell? I have often woven webs of words- To trap you with their spell- Yet all my snares you've broken. How I wonder where you've gone... Are you thinking of me, darling? As I sit here all alone... Could you tell me that you love me? Only once, dear, that would do... Would you shed a tear in passing? For a man in love with you. |
