In the still summer air A smell of peach blossoms With glowing eyes In long night shadows A striped cat makes his way Crickets chirp Among the reeds Moonlight on calm water Two figures Walk along the beach Just offshore the sound of oars A small boat out to sea |

June is my favorite month... I admit it was much better for the senses when I was up North...far more night sounds and I grew up on a chain of lakes..so the sound of water lapping.. But I love June here too..the beach, the waves crashing, the sound of your own labored breathing in the humidity.. Great writing!"too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
