How Sweet These Thoughts


Last night a friend
said that we would
be friends for Eternity.

And I thought
in my heart
that she understood
the true meaning
of a friend.

Last night,
I got a listening ear
I spilled tears
otherwise bottled.

A friend i intended
For Eternity

A clue of reluctance
in her eyes
Staggering language
that doesn't sound like love

I know
it's not a friendship for eternal.
