All that I wanted was a sympathetic ear
A "yes" or "mmhmm" so I know that you hear
What I got in return
Was none of the above
I got a slap in the face with a worded glove.

Let me rant and rave and get if off my chest,
I don't need your words to make me feel guilt and regret.

Very enjoyable poem, and,yes,sometimes you just want to be heard, not talked back to. I think most people can identify with that.
