A day off
what to do
twiddle thumbs
retired walks
pigeon feed
the day after
buildings fall

I ask for a day off
to watch it all
take my time
snap a few pictures
in hateful harmony
or naive zest
for a day after
walked over
shortchanged then

Money that buys all
straight off racks
onto bodies like ours
for bucks buy more
with 20% off
original costs
a day after
I take off
